FK Metta achieved their first win of the season in an entertaining match at the Hanzas Vidusskolas Stadium, coming from behind to defeat FK Tukums 2000 with a score of 3-2. Meanwhile, FK Auda dominated their match against SK Super Nova but managed only a narrow 1-0 victory, courtesy of a goal from Abiodun Ogunniyi.

Both Metta and Tukums entered this game at the bottom of the league table. Tukums were searching for their first win and first goal of the season, while FK Metta aimed not only for their first win and goal but also their first point.

The match kicked off with Tukums scoring first. Dusalijevs received a pass on the edge of the box, made some moves, and took a shot that deflected off a defender’s leg and into the goal. A few minutes later, Metta also scored their first goal of the season, benefiting from a mistake by a Tukums defender that allowed Kristofers Reķis to net the ball.

At the end of the first half, Raivis Ķiršs regained the lead for Tukums. A deflection from a Niks Dusalijevs shot favored Tukums, and Raivis was quick to tap the ball into the net.

At the start of the second half, Metta equalized again. FK Tukums defender Martins Štāls made another costly error when his pass was intercepted. Metta player Ivulāns seized the opportunity and quickly shot from just inside the penalty area, beating goalkeeper Raivo Stūriņš.

Ten minutes later, Metta took the lead for the first time. A beautifully executed outside-the-foot pass from 18-year-old Rūdolfs Kļavinskis set up a one-on-one chance for Emīls Evelons, who scored his first-ever goal in the Virslīga during his inaugural season with FK Metta.

FK Tukums tried to recover, but their task became even more challenging when Kristers Volkovs received a straight red card just six minutes after coming on as a substitute.

FK Metta held on for the win, marking their first victory of the season, while FK Tukums remained at the bottom of the league table with only one point after three games.

A more prominent headline from this match was the unfortunate injury sustained by Renārs Varslavāns, who was visibly emotional as he was unable to continue playing. He was expected to be a starter for the upcoming Latvia national team games, and he will definitely miss the games against Andorra and England.
