Our story
Baltic Football News was formed in late 2024 out of a merger of leading observers of Latvian football in English – Latvian Footy News, Latvian Football Podcast, and Virsliga News.
United by a shared passion for the beauty and unpredictability of local football yet acutely aware of the language barrier faced by international football fans and enthusiasts, the three previously separate projects decided to take a big step forward and collaborate to create a unified hub for international audiences excited to learn and to follow the beautiful game as we experience it.
The only logical next step to take was to leverage over a decade of combined experience of covering Latvian football to expand the focus to include Lithuania and Estonia as well! And so, with the classic Baltic football family assembled, the Baltic Football News and Baltic Football Podcast were born!
