JK Narva Trans is a professional football club which was founded in 1979 as Avtomobilist by the workers of the Motor Depot 13 in Narva. The current club president and former manager Nikolai Burdakov was one of the players from the original Avtomobilist side. During summer, they play their home games at the Kreenholm Stadium, which is one of the most easternmost stadiums in Estonia, located a mere 900 meters from the eastern border.

In 1992 the club changed the name to Narva Trans and became one of the founding members of the new Premium liiga (then meistriliiga), finishing the inaugural season in seventh place. After finishing third in the 1994/95 season Narva made their European debut in the 1996 Intertoto Cup. 

The first silverware what the club won was in 2001 when they raised the Estonian Cup by beating Tallina FC Flora where a super goal was scored by then Narva captain Oleg Kurotskin who scored a screamer of a free kick from 50 meters out in the extra time to win the title for Narva.

Narva Trans finished third in the 2005 Premium liiga season and following that they finished second in the 2006 season, their best finish to this date. Even though they have never won the league and for the last eleven years have found themselves more in the second part of the table, in these years they have added two more Estonian Cup titles to their name in 2019 and 2023.
