In today’s Czech MOL Cup quarter-final, Artūr Dolžnikov and his Sigma Olomouc side achieved a surprising victory by eliminating from the competition the current Czech league leaders, SK Slavia Prague, with a score of 1:0.

The Lithuanian winger, who previously scored his first goal for the club in a match against Karvina, started the game on the bench for this Czech Cup match.

In the first half, Sigma Olomouc took the lead when Czech international Jan Kliment scored his 19th goal of the season across all competitions. Dolžnikov entered the match as a substitute in the 64th minute and helped secure the victory, allowing Sigma Olomouc to eliminate SK Slavia Prague. At the end of the game, Dolžnikov received a yellow card.

This victory marks the first time since the 2019/2020 season that Sigma Olomouc has reached the MOL Cup semi-final stage, with their opponent yet to be determined. Sigma Olomouc previously lifted the Czech MOL Cup title in the 2011/2012 season, defeating Sparta Prague 1-0.

Dolžnikov’s next match will be on Sunday, when the team returns to league action to face Slovacko.

In the Polish second division, Dominykas Barauskas started for the second consecutive match as his team, Leczna, played to a goalless draw against Kotwica Kolobrzeg.

The 27-year-old defender played until the 75th minute before being substituted. In his first season with Leczna, the Lithuanian international has made 20 appearances in the league. The team currently sits 7th in the league table, with 40 points after 27 games.
