Lithuanian striker Edgaras Dubickas scored his first goal in South Korea as Suwon Samsung Bluewings continued their promotion charge with a 4-1 away victory over Gimpo FC.
The 28-year-old forward once again started on the bench, as he had done in each of his previous four appearances since joining the South Korean side. This time, Dubickas was introduced at the start of the second half, with Suwon already leading 1-0.
The visitors doubled their advantage in the 52nd minute, but Gimpo later pulled one goal back to reduce the deficit and keep the match alive.
Ten minutes from time, Dubickas made his mark. After having a goal disallowed on his debut, the Lithuanian striker finally opened his official account in South Korea, scoring Suwon’s third goal of the match to restore a two-goal cushion.
Suwon then added another goal deep into stoppage time to complete a convincing 4-1 victory away from home.
The win keeps Suwon Samsung Bluewings top of the South Korean second division with 47 points from 23 matches. They remain five points ahead of their closest challengers, Daegu and Seoul E-Land, with nine league matches left to play.
Dubickas and Suwon will return to action next Sunday, when they host Asan.
