In the opening match of Matchday 6 in the Estonian Premium Liiga, JK Narva Trans secured a 1:0 victory against JK Tallinna Kalev, thanks to a spectacular goal from Jegor Žuravljov.

In their previous game, Narva had narrowly lost to league leaders FCI Levadia with a score of 0:1, following a penalty converted by Joao Pedro in the 74th minute. Conversely, JK Tallinna Kalev ended a four-game losing streak by winning their first league match of the season, beating Kuressaare 4:1.

Narva’s Ukrainian manager, Roman Kozhukhovskyi, decided to maintain the same starting lineup as in the game against Levadia. Meanwhile, JK Tallinna Kalev’s manager, Teemu Tainio, made four changes, bringing Vadim Mihhailov, Romet Nigula, Rico Ernits, and Daniil Shevyakov back into the starting eleven.

In the first half, Narva appeared to take the lead when Aleksandr Ivanyushin scored, but the referee disallowed the goal for a foul in the buildup, keeping the score at 0:0. Moments later, a shot from Canadian defender Cristian Campagna was saved by Tallinn Kalev’s goalkeeper, Lepp. Both teams headed into halftime with a score of 0:0.

The breakthrough for JK Narva Trans came in the 75th minute when Jegor Žuravljov seized a loose ball and fired a stunning long-range shot from around 25 meters out, finding the top right corner of the net without giving the goalkeeper a chance. What a remarkable goal! With this, Narva Trans took a 1:0 lead.

Narva Trans managed to hold on for the win, marking their third victory in the last four league games, while Tallinna Kalev returned to their losing ways, suffering their fifth defeat in the six league games.
