Tartu Tammeka returned home with three points after securing a deserved 3-1 away victory over Kuressaare in the final match of Premium Liiga Matchday 28. Oliver Kangaslahti, Pavel Marin and Romet Silov scored for the visitors, while Jevgeni Demidov was on target for Kuressaare.
Tammeka controlled possession from the opening stages, but Kuressaare created the first major opportunity when Aston Visse found Taavi Jürisoo around ten metres from goal, only for Pedro Manoel to produce an important goal-line block. The visitors took the lead in the 18th minute when Silov’s corner was attacked by Manoel before captain Kangaslahti made sure from close range.
Kuressaare responded almost immediately. Jürisoo created a good opportunity for Visse, whose effort was denied by Kristofer Sahtel, before the equaliser arrived in the 21st minute. Joachim Amijekori misplaced a pass directly into the path of Demidov, who advanced and fired a precise effort from outside the box inside the far post.
Tammeka restored their advantage before the half-hour mark. After Ahmed Sambe had failed to convert a dangerous Silov delivery moments earlier, he made a strong run down the right and played the ball towards the near post, where Marin finished to make it 2-1. Tammeka went into the break deservedly ahead after controlling much of the opening half.
Kuressaare took more initiative after the restart and began seeing considerably more of the ball. Jürisoo tested Sahtel before Marco Lukka headed a good opportunity off target, but the hosts were punished in the 70th minute. Silov advanced from the left, moved inside and fired a bouncing long-range effort through Karl-Romet Nõmm’s hands to extend Tammeka’s advantage to 3-1.
The visitors could have added another when a mistake from Nõmm presented Sambe with an opportunity in front of an exposed goal, but he failed to capitalise. Kuressaare pushed forward in the closing stages, with Sahtel producing an excellent save to tip Roland Lukas’ powerful effort over the crossbar, but Tammeka held on comfortably enough to secure all three points.
