Paide Linnameeskond head coach Tarmo Kink said Pedro Andrade’s 75th-minute red card proved decisive in his side’s 2-0 defeat by Nõmme Kalju. Paide had fallen behind to a 12th-minute goal and conceded a second from the penalty spot after being reduced to 10 men.

Kink disagreed with the suggestion that Paide had struggled after the break, telling ERR: “I don’t think we watched the same game. I think we put them under a lot of pressure in the second half; the red card simply killed the game. Kalju had a chance to score on the counter-attack, but we kept pressing.”

Asked why Paide lost, Kink replied: “When the opposition score twice and you do not score at all, you lose.” He said he could not comment on his players’ mindset, but added that the team needed to show character in its remaining matches.

Paide face Pärnu Vaprus at the weekend, who are battling in the lower half of the table to avoid the relegation play-offs.
