As FK Grobiņa prepares for the upcoming Virslīga season, it has announced five players who will remain with the team. The list includes Jānis Krautmanis, Emīls Knapšis, Maksims Fjodorovs, Ņikita Piņčuks, and, notably, Devids Dobrecovs, last season’s Grobiņa top scorer.

27-year-old Devids Dobrecovs, Grobiņa’s top scorer with eight goals in 33 league games last season, has been with the club since 2020. The former FK Liepāja and FK Atlantas striker looks forward to maintaining his productivity this season under the guidance of his father, just as he did last year.

Jānis Krautmanis, 27, joined Grobiņa in the summer of 2023 from FK Liepāja, playing a crucial role in the team’s promotion to the Virslīga. Last season, he made 32 appearances and reached the significant milestone of 100 games played in the Virslīga.

After a nearly ten-year hiatus, the creative 29-year-old winger Emīls Knapšis returned to the Virslīga last season. In the 2014 season, he appeared in 24 Virslīga matches for FK Liepāja and FK Daugava Rīga. Last season, Emīls participated in 29 games across all competitions for Grobiņa, providing two assists. The winger will start in his ninth season with the Grobiņa side.

Maksims Fjodorovs, another player who joined in the summer of 2023 from FK Liepāja, will also stay with Grobiņa for the 2025 season. The 21-year-old midfielder made 22 appearances in the Virslīga and scored one goal. He missed two months of action due to an injury sustained between late May and July.

21-year-old goalkeeper Ņikita Piņčuks served as a backup last season, making five appearances and allowing 13 goals.
