FC Hegelmann’s attacking player, Leo Ribeiro, was named the TOPsport A Lyga Player of the Month for April.
The 30-year-old Brazilian, now in his second season with Hegelmann, played five matches in April and assisted four goals. Hegelmann, currently the league leaders, won three of their games during the month.
In the monthly voting for Player of the Month, Leo Ribeiro emerged as the winner after the votes of commentators, podcast hosts, and club captains—collaborating with the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA)—were counted.
In his ten appearances this season, Ribeiro has tallied five assists. Previously, in March, FK Kauno Žalgiris’s attacking player, Amine Benchaib from Belgium, was named Player of the Month.
Additionally, the Best Young Player of the Month award went to 20-year-old Davor Rakic, a Bosnian striker for DFK Dainava Alytus, who scored three goals in five league games in April.
Romualdas Jansonas from FK Kauno Žalgiris won the Young Player of the Month award for March.
