Dāvis Ošs, the towering 1.99m goalkeeper, has officially rejoined FK Liepāja, a club he has previously called home. After spending the 2023 season with the team, Ošs returns with fresh determination and aims to secure a starting spot in what promises to be a highly competitive goalkeeping battle. His return is set against the backdrop of FK Liepāja’s ambitious goals for the upcoming season and the presence of another talented shot-stopper, Danijel Petković.

Ošs, born on December 3, 1994, has built a solid career in Latvian football. Before joining FK Liepāja in 2023, Ošs played for a variety of clubs, including FK Metta, FK Spartaks and Riga FC. His shot-stopping ability made him a key figure for those clubs, and it was no surprise when FK Liepāja signed him in the summer of 2023. In the 2023 season with FK Liepāja, Ošs played 11 matches in the Virslīga, keeping two clean sheets in the process

In the 2024 season, Ošs made 27 appearances for Valmiera FC in the Virslīga, contributing to the club’s solid defensive record. His performances earned him a return to FK Liepāja. Ošs’s return comes at a time when FK Liepāja is preparing for an intense period of preseason training and friendly matches. The club is gearing up for a series of high-stakes encounters, with the goalkeeping position expected to be one of the toughest to call. Petković, who has established himself as a reliable presence in the team, will provide stiff competition for Ošs. The duel for the first-choice goalkeeper position will be an intriguing storyline in the lead-up to the new season.

The preseason kicks off with an home friendly on January 18th, when FK Liepāja faces Lithuanian club Džiugas. The following week, on January 24th, they will meet another Lithuanian side, Banga, in another test of their readiness. From January 26th, FK Liepāja will head to Turkey for a training camp, where they will continue their preparations for the new season.
