On the opening day of the Latvian Virslīga, reigning champions and UEFA Europa League participants FC RFS have loaned one of their youngest talents, striker Mamadou Sylla, to newly promoted side SK Super Nova for the 2025 season.
The 19-year-old forward from Côte d’Ivoire began his European career last year and made an immediate impact in RFS’s reserve team, scoring eight goals in 14 matches. Throughout the preseason, Sylla trained with the RFS first team, showcasing his potential. However, just before the start of the season, the club decided to loan him out to SK Super Nova to gain more top-flight experience.
SK Super Nova will play their first Virslīga match tomorrow, March 6, against last season’s runners-up, Riga FC.
