FCI Levadia have extended head coach Vjatšeslav Zahovaiko’s contract for a further year after he led the club to the Estonian title. The club secured their 12th championship with six rounds remaining, having appointed Zahovaiko in December to replace Curro Torres, who consequently made a short-lived appearance in Latvia to coach Liepāja, before buying out his contract and moving on to the Middle East.

“This season has been wonderful. We achieved our main objective and became Estonian champions with convincing performances,” Zahovaiko said. “I am proud of the club and grateful to the players and staff for their commitment and work. This title is a collective achievement.”

Zahovaiko thanked Levadia for their trust and said the team aimed to defend the title and make progress in Europe. “We have built a strong foundation for next season. I am looking forward to it with great motivation,” he said.

The club’s sporting department said the extension was a natural step, citing a shared vision and ambition to keep improving.
