Baturins returns to Harju

Premium Liiga newcomers Harju JK Laagri have confirmed the signing of 27-year old Latvian goalkeeper Ivans Baturins.

The shot stopper first joined the Laagri based team ahead of the 2023 season from Tallinna JK Legion, where he spent two seasons, playing in 70 games across all competitions. After featuring in 38 games for Harju in 2023, Baturins was initially on trial with FK Tukums 2000/TELMS, but ended up spending the season in Lithuanian A Lyga side FC Džiugas Telšiai, where he made 16 appearances, according to Transfermarkt, keeping 4 clean sheets.

We have a great coaching staff and talented young players. I can promise our fans and supporters that this season will be more productive than the previous ones in the Premium Liiga. Harju head coach Lauri Nuuma added:

“Ivans has the potential to be one of the best goalkeepers in the league and an important link in our team. Inbetween adventures in Lithuania have brought him back to us for this season and I hope, that he will use his chance in the Premium Liiga to a maximum.”
