Steve Lawson set to leave FK Sūduva for Apollon Limassol

The journey between FK Sūduva and Togolese international Steve Lawson appears to be nearing its end after just one year. The 30-year-old defensive midfielder, who joined the Lithuanian club in January 2024, is expected to depart as a free agent when his contract expires in December 2024.

Lawson has had a strong season with Sūduva, featuring in 32 matches across all competitions and scoring five goals. Despite his contributions, the club is unlikely to extend his contract, paving the way for his next move.

According to reports from Africafoot, Cypriot first-division side Apollon Limassol is preparing to welcome Lawson. Negotiations between the player and the Cypriot club are reportedly at an advanced stage, suggesting that his next destination is already decided barring any last-minute developments.

Lawson’s experience spans various leagues. Before his time at Sūduva, he played for Vannes in France and had stints in Scotland with Livingston FC and Hamilton Academical. His versatility and leadership on the pitch have made him a valuable asset wherever he has played.
