FK Tukums 2000 snatched a dramatic late point in the 12th round of the Tonybet Virslīga, as Dāvis Mārcis Valmiers scored deep into stoppage time to secure a 1-1 draw away against SK Super Nova.
Tukums started aggressively and immediately put pressure on the home side. Super Nova goalkeeper Dāvis Viljams Veisbuks was forced into action already in the opening minute after a long-range effort from Japanese midfielder Shun Shibata, while moments later the crossbar came to his rescue following a strike from Helvijs Joksts.
Despite Tukums controlling the early stages, it was Super Nova who struck first. After a clever assist from Valerijs Lizunovs, Agris Glaudāns found space inside the area and fired a precise finish into the far corner to put the hosts 1-0 ahead.
The goal only increased Tukums’ attacking urgency. The visitors continued to create chances throughout the first half, but Veisbuks repeatedly stood firm in goal, making several important saves to preserve Super Nova’s lead heading into halftime.
The second half followed a similar pattern. Bogdans Samoilovs had two huge opportunities within seconds early after the restart – first denied brilliantly by Veisbuks with his legs, before mis-hitting an even better chance moments later straight at the goalkeeper.
As the match progressed, Veisbuks continued his outstanding performance. In the 77th minute he produced the save of the game, reacting superbly to deny Enyou’s close-range header from a set piece. The rebound then fell kindly for Rūdolfs Reingolcs, but the Tukums defender somehow blasted over the bar from point-blank range.
Tukums’ relentless pressure finally paid off in stoppage time. Following a short corner routine, Samoilovs rolled the ball to the edge of the box where substitute Dāvis Mārcis Valmiers struck a precise finish beyond Veisbuks to rescue a deserved equaliser and a valuable point for the visitors.
After the draw, Super Nova move onto 14 points and sit alongside BFC Daugavpils in fourth and fifth place, while Tukums climb to 12 points together with FK Liepāja and FS Jelgava in the tightly packed middle of the table.
