Lithuanian Toplyga club FK Žalgiris Vilnius have announced the signing of Cape Verde international forward Bryan Teixeira on a two-year contract.
The 25-year-old attacker, who was born in France but represents Cape Verde national football team at international level, joins Žalgiris after most recently being under contract with Austrian Bundesliga side LASK. During the previous season, Teixeira did not make a competitive appearance for LASK.
A graduate of the Clermont Foot academy, Teixeira spent several seasons competing in France’s lower divisions before moving to Central Europe. His career then took him to Austria, where he played four seasons with Austria Lustenau and Sturm Graz. Across those spells, he made 40 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga, contributing six goals and 12 assists.
Teixeira’s most recent spell of regular competitive action came during the 2024/25 season, when he represented German second-division side Magdeburg, making 20 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga.
At international level, Teixeira has earned seven caps for Cape Verde and was part of the squad at the Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored one goal in two appearances, including a strike against Egypt national football team.
Speaking after completing his move to Vilnius, Teixeira explained his decision to join Žalgiris.
“My wish was to find a place where I could enjoy football and face new challenges. Coming here was the best decision for me,” Teixeira said. “This project is very exciting – it is a historically rich and ambitious club. My goals align with the club’s ambitions, which from now on will also be my goals. I have just one desire now: to get to work with the team, meet the fans and make the stadium shake.”
