Lithuanian A Lyga vice-champions FC Hegelmann have announced a new addition to their squad, signing Bosnian wide player Vedad Radonja.
The 24-year-old spent the past few seasons in Greece, having joined the AEK Athens system in 2020. Over the last five years, Radonja mainly played for AEK’s reserve team in Greece’s second tier, but also made 10 appearances for the senior side, scoring once. During his time at AEK, he also collected a Greek Cup winner’s medal in the 2022/23 season.
Last season, Radonja spent a loan spell with PAS Lamia in the Greek Super League, featuring in 20 matches and scoring once. His contract with AEK Athens expired over the summer, leaving him a free agent until now.
Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia, Radonja moved to Croatia at the age of 12 to join the Dinamo Zagreb academy, where he developed his skills from 2013 to 2020 before moving to Greece. The versatile player is capable of operating both as a right midfielder and right-back, providing Hegelmann with multiple options on the flank.
