FK Banga Gargždai have confirmed the departure of Akpe Victory, with the Nigerian defender completing a transfer to Hungarian side Zalaegerszegi TE following an impressive debut season in European football.

The 19-year-old centre-back joined Banga before the 2025 A Lyga season, marking his first move to European football. After an initial adaptation period, Akpe became a regular starter in the second half of the campaign.

He started all 14 of Banga’s final A Lyga matches, playing the full 90 minutes in 13 of them. Over the entire season, Akpe made 28 A Lyga appearances, registering three assists. In addition to his role as a central defender, he can also operate as a defensive midfielder.

His performances attracted interest from other European clubs, and Banga have agreed to his transfer to Zalaegerszegi TE for an undisclosed fee.

Zalaegerszegi TE, Hungarian league champions once more than 20 years ago, currently compete in the Hungarian top division and sit seventh in the league at the midpoint of the season.
