Lithuanian A Lyga side FK Banga Gargždai have announced their first signing of the offseason, securing Ukrainian goalkeeper Volodymyr Krynskyi from fellow Lithuanian club Dainava Alytus.
The 28-year-old spent the previous two seasons with Dainava. After an outstanding 2024 campaign, in which he kept 11 clean sheets in 29 league matches and played a key role in helping the club achieve the highest league finish in its history – fourth place – Krynskyi endured a far more difficult 2025 season. Injury problems limited the goalkeeper to just 13 league appearances, and Dainava struggled throughout the campaign, ultimately finishing bottom of the table and being relegated to the second tier.
Despite Dainava’s relegation, Krynskyi will remain in Lithuanian football, having agreed to a one-year contract with FK Banga Gargždai. The nearly two-metre-tall Ukrainian brings significant experience and physical presence to Banga’s goalkeeping department.
A graduate of the Kharkiv football school, Krynskyi previously represented several Ukrainian clubs and made 33 appearances in the Ukrainian Premier League. In 2022, he moved to the Czech Republic, where he spent two seasons in the country’s second division with Prostějov, before making the switch to Lithuania.
Alongside Krynskyi’s arrival, FK Banga Gargždai also confirmed that Nigerian midfielder Aaron Olugbogi will remain with the club for another season. Olugbogi featured in 20 league matches in 2025, scoring three goals.
Meanwhile, the club announced the departure of long-serving forward Pijus Srėbalius. A true product of Banga’s academy, the 23-year-old progressed through the youth ranks to the first team and went on to make 139 appearances for the club, scoring ten goals.
