A Lyga side FC Džiugas Telšiai have announced the signing of former FK Riteriai captain Jakub Wawszczyk, with the Polish full-back committing to a contract through the end of 2026.
The 27-year-old first arrived in Lithuania in September 2024, helping FK Riteriai secure the Pirma Lyga title and promotion back to the country’s top division. This season, Wawszczyk had featured in 13 A Lyga matches, scoring once and providing two assists.
Midway through the summer, Riteriai confirmed that their Polish captain would be leaving the club. Now, he has been officially unveiled as a FC Džiugas Telšiai player, signing a deal that keeps him at the club until the end of 2026.
Before moving to Lithuania, Wawszczyk’s career was entirely in Poland, where he appeared in a total of 17 Ekstraklasa matches for Arka Gdynia and Stal Mielec, across multiple clubs and levels.
FC Džiugas Telšiai will return to A Lyga action on Sunday, traveling to face league leaders FK Kauno Žalgiris.
