FC Hegelmann have completed the most valuable transfer in their history, sending in-form striker Kader Njoya Abdel to Norwegian side Sandefjord for a fee reported to exceed €250,000.

The Kaunas District club also secured a 10% sell-on clause, marking what is believed to be the largest outgoing transfer in Lithuanian football in the past eight years.

“This move perfectly reflects our long-term vision,” explained sporting director Giedrius Klevinskas. “We want to create an environment where young talents can grow, showcase their ability, and ultimately take the next step to stronger leagues. Kader’s progress is proof that this approach works.”

The 21-year-old forward has been one of the revelations of the A Lyga season. After a modest return of just two goals last year, Abdel has exploded in 2025 with 12 goals to his name already, sitting clear as the league’s most dangerous striker.

His departure continues a busy summer of transfer activity for Hegelmann. Dutch defender Jonathas Mulder left earlier for the Czech top division, while Serbian midfielder Lazar Kojić recently moved to Greece.

Before leaving Lithuania, Abdel shared an emotional farewell message, expressing gratitude to the club, his teammates, and supporters:

He thanked his coach for believing in him, his teammates for becoming “more like family than just colleagues,” and highlighted the unforgettable memories built both on and off the pitch. “This club will always hold a special place in my heart,” he said, adding that he hopes their paths will cross again in the future.

Abdel attented today’s Sandefjord’s home clash against Norwegian giants Bodø/Glimt. Following a medical next week, he could make his Eliteserien debut after the international break. Sandefjord with 28 points after 19 matches are 7th in the Norwegian top-flight.
