FK Tukums 2000 striker Ingars Pūlis has been named Latvian Virslīga’s Player of the Month for July, while FK Liepāja head coach Andreas Alm takes home the Coach of the Month award after a strong run of form with his team.

Pūlis, 24, played a key role for Tukums in all four of the club’s matches in July, starting each one and scoring four goals – three of them in vital wins against FK Grobiņa and FK Metta. Those victories helped the club climb to 8th place in the league table, a position that currently ensures Virslīga survival for next season.

With 14 goals this season, Pūlis is now second overall in the league’s scoring charts and the top Latvian-born goal scorer. His consistent performances and clinical finishing made him a standout choice among nominees that included Riga FC’s Iago Siqueira, FC RFS forward Darko Lemajič, BFC Daugavpils’ Ceti Chibinda, and FK Liepāja’s Bruno Melnis.

The Player of the Month award process involves nominations from the Latvian Football Federation Coaches’ Committee and the Latvian Virslīga association, followed by public and media voting on Facebook and Instagram.

On the coaching side, Andreas Alm has made an immediate impact since stepping into the role at FK Liepāja in early May. Under his leadership, the team has picked up eight wins, two draws, and just four defeats, climbing to 3rd place in the table after 25 matches.

This is Alm’s first monthly coaching honor in Latvia, but the Swedish manager brings significant experience from top-flight clubs in Sweden and Denmark. His arrival has brought structure and momentum to Liepāja, and July’s award reflects on it.
