Visockis resigns as Liepāja sporting director after two years
Photo: FK Liepāja Ivans Visockis has stepped down as Liepāja sporting director after two years at the Latvian club, announcing his departure in a post on social media.
“After two incredible years, my time in Liepāja has come to an end,” he wrote. “A huge thank you to the president, Mark, Dāvids, all the staff and players for the experience, the time we spent together, the love, the bad days and the good ones. I am grateful for every moment and every memory. See you again.”
The 33-year-old joined Liepāja in November 2024 as chief scout before taking on wider responsibilities and becoming sporting director. He helped assemble the current squad, which includes Virsliga leading scorer Oloko Ede.
Before moving to Liepāja, Visockis worked for Riga FC as an analyst. The capital club won three consecutive Latvian league titles from 2018 to 2020. He has also worked with Pafos, the Cypriot club that faced Riga FC in the Conference League recently.
Liepāja have secured fifth place with one league match remaining. They missed out to Daugavpils in the race for fourth and a place in European qualifying for a second successive season.
