Paide Linnameeskond booked their place in the Evald Tipner Estonian Cup final and secured qualification for this summer’s European competitions after defeating Pärnu JK Vaprus 2-0 at home. They will now face FC Flora Tallinn in the final after a professional performance sealed by goals from Daniel Luts and Henri Anier.

With both teams viewing the cup as their most realistic route into Europe, the stakes were high in Paide. The pressure, however, rested mostly on the home side, who knew that reaching the final would guarantee a European place regardless of the final result.

Despite Paide controlling possession from the opening minutes, it was Vaprus who created the first dangerous situations. Matthias Limberg and Mark Lepik both threatened early, while Tristan Pajo impressed with his movement and passing in midfield.

Paide struggled initially to convert territorial dominance into clear chances. William Lins and Modou Sohna both tried their luck from distance, while Abdourahman Badamosi wasted a promising opportunity from the edge of the box.

As the first half progressed, Paide slowly increased the pressure. Hendrik Vainu produced an excellent save from close range to deny William Lins after another dangerous attack, keeping Vaprus level.

The breakthrough finally came in the 35th minute. Oskar Hõim delivered a perfectly weighted pass behind the defense for Daniel Luts, who calmly lifted the ball over Vainu to make it 1-0.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Vaprus fought physically and tried to stay alive in the tie, but struggled to create sustained pressure against Paide’s organized structure. Their best chance came in the 76th minute when captain Kevin Aloe had two efforts in quick succession denied, first by Ebrima Jarju and then by Martin Miller clearing off the line.

Paide continued searching for a second goal to kill off the contest, though Badamosi again struggled to make an impact before eventually being substituted. Henri Anier and Momodou Jobarteh were introduced to provide fresh attacking energy.

Deep into stoppage time, Vaprus pushed numbers forward in desperation, but Paide punished them on the counterattack. Modou Sohna produced a brilliant run down the right wing before cutting the ball back for Henri Anier, who tapped home from close range in the 97th minute to seal the result.

Moments later the final whistle confirmed Paide’s place in the Estonian Cup final and, more importantly, secured European football for the club once again.

FC Flora Tallinn await them in the final, while Vaprus’ hopes of reaching Europe through the cup come to an end despite another spirited performance against one of Estonia’s biggest clubs.
