Photo: Svetlana Valijeva Ebrima Jarju has confirmed his departure after five years at the club, bringing an end to a spell that made him a fan favourite. Following his final match against Vaprus, he thanked the supporters.
The goalkeeper played his final game in a Paide shirt against Flora, helping the team recover from a difficult start after falling 2-0 behind. Paide fought back to secure a result and finish second in the league.
Reflecting on his farewell appearance, he praised the supporters and said he had wanted to give them something to celebrate.
“It was amazing, especially from the fans. I came with a mentality today to give everything for the fans to be happy because they really deserve to be happy today. And we got second place. It’s not what we wanted, but it’s ok for the fans, I think,” he said.
Paide’s goalkeeper also spoke about the team’s response after conceding twice early in the match. He admitted that the start had been difficult but said the players remained determined to get back into the game.
“Mentally, it was difficult to start the game so badly. We considered 2-0, but after all, we realised not to go down. We have to be strong. We have to give a draw or win to the fans. And we got it. I think the fans are happy. We are happy too,” he said.
After five years in Paide, the goalkeeper said the club had become like a home to him and thanked the supporters for the way they had welcomed him.
“I really love them. Honestly, it’s like a home to me. I wish one day I will come and help them to support the team because they really welcome me as a player. I really appreciate it. I’m excited even to watch Paide on the side,” he said.
His next destination remains undecided, with the goalkeeper confirming that he has received several offers and will consider which option is best.
