Ogre United and Liepāja drew 2-2 in the 30th round of the Virsliga on Friday, 11th September 2026, after the hosts scored twice with fine finishes but conceded a stoppage-time penalty.
Former Hegelmann FC, Džiugas and Riteriai midfielder Leif Leon Estevez Fernandez opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a first-time strike from outside the penalty area. Rendijs Šibass then doubled Ogre United’s lead five minutes after the break with an outstanding long-range effort, in his first Virsliga appearance of the season.
Liepāja reduced the deficit through Joseph Oloko Ede in the 79th minute. The visitors were then denied a possible penalty after a VAR review, but were awarded a spot-kick moments later. Ede converted in the ninth minute of added time to claim his 25th league goal of the campaign and preserve Liepāja’s position in fourth place as Ogre remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
