Falkirk continued their strong run of form with a 5-2 win away to Scottish Premiership runners-up Hearts. Latvia midfielder Deniss Meļņiks provided an assist as Falkirk scored five unanswered goals by the 47th minute.

The visitors had struggled at the start of the season, taking four defeats, three draws and one win from their first eight league matches. They have since won five consecutive games, including a 2-0 victory over reigning champions Celtic last week. Falkirk also beat Hearts 2-1 in the sides’ first meeting this season.

Meļņiks set up one of American forward Jacob Carter’s two goals in the 33rd minute. Falkirk have 21 points from 13 matches and have moved into the top three.
