Lithuania head coach Edgaras Jankauskas has named his squad for the start of this year’s UEFA Nations League campaign, with Adrian Lickūnas receiving his first senior national team call-up and several familiar faces returning to the squad.
Lithuania will begin their training camp on Monday ahead of an unusually long September-October international window featuring four matches. Jankauskas’ side open their Nations League campaign away against Liechtenstein on September 24 before hosting Azerbaijan three days later.
Lithuania will then face Andorra in a friendly at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium on September 30, before completing the window with another Nations League meeting against Azerbaijan away from home on October 4.
One of the most notable additions is Lickūnas, who has earned his first senior Lithuania call-up after making his first-team debut for his Serie B club in Italy. The youngster has spent several years developing in Italian football and has now been rewarded with an opportunity at international level.
Several players also return following shorter or longer absences. Vykintas Slivka is back after returning to play his club football in Lithuania, while Artūras Dolžnikovas returns after changing clubs in Czechia. Faustas Steponavičius has also been recalled following a strong season in the Toplyga, while Manfredas Ruzgis returns after rediscovering his goalscoring touch in Albania.
Kipras Kažukolovas is back in the squad after recovering from injury, while Edvinas Gertmonas and Pijus Širvys also return after missing the Baltic Cup.
