FCI Levadia and Flora meet in the first Tallinn derby of the A. Le Coq Premium Liiga season on Sunday, with kick-off at 14:30 at Sportland Arena.
The fixture will be the 108th league meeting between the city rivals. After six rounds, Nõmme Kalju lead the table on 16 points, followed by Paide Linnameeskond on 13 and Levadia on 12, while Harju Laagri and reigning champions Flora are level on nine.
Flora’s goalkeeping coach Aiko Orgla said the squad’s focus was on collective purpose heading into the derby. “Jarek Kasar has a song called ‘My People’,” Orgla said. “There are plenty of lines we could quote about our team, but I’ll pick one: ‘My people, one stance, one aim and one direction.’ That’s how we operate as a team and how we go into the derby against Levadia.”
Striker Rauno Sappinen said Flora were aiming to build momentum. “It’s a match that doesn’t need many words,” he said. “We’ve trained very well for a week, we want a third win in a row and to give our supporters a good feeling.”
Last season, Flora won two of the four league meetings between the sides, with one draw and one defeat.
