Flora and FCI Levadia meet this evening, on Saturday the 13th of June, in the season’s second Tallinn derby, with Levadia aiming to strengthen their grip on the Premium liiga title race.

The two Tallinn giants face each other at the A Le Coq Arena after Levadia dominated the first league meeting of the campaign, winning 4-0 in the seventh round. Fourteen rounds into the season, Levadia sit top on 36 points, while Flora are third with 27.

Flora, however, are coming in with good form this time around, unbeaten across their last six league matches. Their most recent outing ended in a 4-0 win against Nõmme United, and their last defeat in the league came in that derby loss to Levadia in late April. There is some concern over Flora’s attacking options after Rauno Sappinen and Sander Alamaa picked up injuries during the international break. Head coach Konstantin Vassiljev told Soccernet that he expects both to be available.

Levadia have covered the distance so far more convincingly than everyone else,” said Vassiljev. “We’re not the only ones chasing, but anything is possible. A defeat would make the gap bigger and make Levadia’s life easier, but we’ll do everything we can to make sure the points stay at home.

Levadia have also won five of their last five, scoring as many goals as Flora but conceding two more. Their star striker – Bubacarr Tambedou – is currently Premium Liiga’s top scorer, three goals ahead of Flora’s Sappinen and his own teammate Wendell.
