Estonia and Vaprus centre-forward Mark Anders Lepik says he intends to continue his playing career after suffering a third anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture during Saturday’s Baltic Cup semi-final, when he was forced off the pitch in the 37th minute.

Lepik told Õhtuleht that he is braced for another long recovery but remains determined to return. “I know a new long and difficult journey is ahead of me. I’m fully aware of that. But it doesn’t discourage me,” he said. “I know there’s still a lot inside me. If I leave one day, it will be on my own terms, not like this.”

Lepik is set to undergo surgery and is expected to be out for 10 to 12 months.
