Latvia have remained 137th, Estonia climbed two places to 127th, while Lithuania dropped one spot to 149th in FIFA’s updated men’s world rankings following the international window that saw three Baltic nations contest the bi-annual Baltic Cup, with Estonia defending the title.
The latest list takes into account Latvia’s two matches in the Baltic Cup. Paolo Nicolato’s side drew 1-1 with Lithuania before losing 5-4 on penalties, then were beaten 1-0 by the Faroe Islands. Estonia won Faroe Islands 1-0 before edging Lithuania with the same score in the closing 10 minutes of the final in Tallinn.
At the top of the global list, Argentina moved up from third to take first place ahead of Spain, with France dropping from first to third. England stayed fourth, Portugal fifth and Brazil sixth, while Morocco rose to seventh at the expense of the Netherlands. Belgium and Germany completed the top 10.
