FC Kuressaare captain Karl-Romet Nõmm said his side must “start taking responsibility” after a 3-2 defeat to Nõmme United in which the visitors let their lead slip twice.
The goalkeeper, who produced a string of saves, was furious despite his own performance as United hit three past Kuressaare. “Let’s not dress it up – the emotion is terrible,” Nõmm told Soccernet TV. “I don’t know how many saves I made, and we still concede three. We have to start taking responsibility, me included.”
Kuressaare led 1-0 before falling behind, then were level at 2-2 in stoppage time only to concede a decisive late goal. Nõmm pointed to lapses in concentration and defensive work. “Whether it’s focus or someone not doing their running, it’s unacceptable,” he said, adding that the team needed a serious dressing-room discussion.
Nõmme United turned the match around in the closing stages. Kevin Mätas levelled on 74th minute, after being set up by Yosuke Morishige, before Koen Oostenbrink put the hosts ahead six minutes later following a pass from Andre Frolov.
Kuressaare appeared to have rescued a point in the fourth minute of added time when Morishige turned Jürisoo’s delivery into his own net, but the late twists were not over. In the 96th minute Zakaria Beglarišvili converted from Mathias Palts’ assist to restore United’s lead and seal the points.
The result left Kuressaare five points adrift of the sides above them, after a win would have moved them out of danger. “You do have to look at the table,” Nõmm said. “With a win we’d be right in there, now we’re starting to fall behind.”
