Nõmme Kalju will begin their European campaign with a home tie in Pärnu after Tallinn venues were ruled out for their UEFA Conference League first qualifying round meeting with Northern Irish champions Linfield.
The first leg will be played at Pärnu Rannastaadion on 9 July, with the return in Belfast on 16 July.
Kalju cannot host the match at Hiiu Stadium because the ground does not meet UEFA requirements. Kadriorg Stadium, which has staged Kalju’s European fixtures in the past, is unavailable due to renovation work following the Under-17 European Championship finals.
A. Le Coq Arena was also not an option as Flora are scheduled to play a Champions League qualifier there the day before. UEFA regulations require the visiting side to be able to train at the match stadium on the eve of the game.
Pärnu Rannastaadion, which has already staged a busy run of fixtures and finals earlier this summer, was therefore selected.
Kalju president Kuno Tehva said the club had no alternative: “It was the only possible place. There isn’t any other.”
