Latvian international Vladislavs Gutkovskis continued his excellent start to the season by scoring as Arka Gdynia returned to winning ways with a convincing 3-0 home victory over Puszcza in the Polish second tier.
The 31-year-old striker once again captained Arka and wasted little time making an impact. After the club suffered its first defeat of the campaign last time out, losing 0-2 away to Skierniewice, Gutkovskis opened the scoring in just the sixth minute. Meeting a cross into the penalty area, the Latvian forward guided a header into the corner for his fourth league goal of the season.
Arka remained in complete control throughout the first half, adding two more goals before the break to establish an unassailable 3-0 advantage, a scoreline that remained unchanged until full-time.
Gutkovskis has now enjoyed an outstanding opening to the campaign, recording four goals and two assists in his first four league appearances.
The victory leaves Arka Gdynia second in the league table with three wins from their opening four matches. They return to action on Sunday with an away trip to Miedz Legnica.
