Vladislavs Gutkovskis continued his strong pre-season form for Arka Gdynia by scoring for a third successive friendly as the Polish side beat lower-league opposition 2-0.
Arka, recently relegated to Poland’s second tier, followed earlier warm-up results of a 2-0 win over Petrolul Ploiești and a 4-2 defeat by Olimpia Grudziądz with victory over a team from Luzino. The club’s competitive season is set to begin next week away at Opole.
In South Tyrol, Arminia Bielefeld recorded a 4-0 friendly win against Serie A side Bologna, with Latvia striker Roberts Uldriķis featuring in the second half. Arminia’s next warm-up match is against Duisburg before their German season starts on 8 August.
Elsewhere, 23-year-old midfielder Deniss Meļņiks started for Falkirk as the Scottish Premiership club won 1-0 against Belgian side Genk.
Forward Raimonds Krollis made his first appearance since May, coming on in the 70th minute for Slovan Liberec in a 3-1 win over Austrian second-tier side St. Pölten, with the score 1-1 at the time of his introduction.
