Following the arrivals of three new signings during the summer transfer window, FK Kauno Žalgiris have parted ways with Latvian forward Dāvis Ikaunieks.
The club and the 32-year-old striker have mutually agreed to terminate his contract.
“I want to thank everyone. It was a pleasure to be here and get to know people from different cultures. I had a great relationship with everyone, and I wish the team the best of luck. I’ll be supporting you in Europe,” Ikaunieks said as he bid farewell to the squad.
Ikaunieks joined FK Kauno Žalgiris in January and scored four goals in the TOPLYGA, while adding another two goals in the Lithuanian Cup.
The Latvian former international’s most memorable moment in green and white came in the LFF Super Cup final, where he scored the decisive goal to secure the club’s first trophy of the season.
