On Thursday afternoon in Vilnius, the Lithuanian Football Federation conducted the draws for both the quarter-finals and semi-finals of this season’s competition, leaving eight clubs now knowing their potential path toward October’s final at Kaunas’ Darius and Girėnas Stadium.
Before the draw ceremony began, LFF president Edgaras Stankevičius confirmed that this year’s final will once again be staged at Lithuania’s national stadium in Kaunas on October 10 – continuing the federation’s ambition to turn the domestic cup final into one of the showcase events of the Lithuanian football calendar.
Five Toplyga clubs and three Pirma Lyga sides remain alive in the competition, with several intriguing storylines emerging immediately from the draw.
One of the standout ties of the quarter-finals sees FA Šiauliai host fellow Toplyga side Džiugas Telšiai, while current league leaders Kauno Žalgiris were drawn away to Pirma Lyga club Vilnius BFA.
Meanwhile, Dainava Alytus will face one of the Toplyga season surprises TransINVEST, while Panevėžys travel to face Kretinga Minija.
The quarter-final matches are scheduled to take place on June 23-24.
Following the quarter-final draw, the semi-final bracket was also determined, outlining each club’s potential path to the final in Kaunas.
