Latvia striker Dario Šits was named in Atlético Madrid B’s starting XI for the first time this year as Fernando Torres’ side slipped to a 3-1 away defeat at Torremolinos in Spain’s third tier.
Šits’ previous league start for Atlético’s reserves came on 10 December, and the 22-year-old featured for 66 minutes on Sunday. Atlético led at the interval but were pegged back, conceding twice more after the equaliser to fall to a two-goal loss.
With three matches remaining, Torres’ team sit third in their group with 61 points from 35 of 38 rounds.
