Virslīgas club FK Liepāja have announced that defender Oskars Vientiess has become a permanent player of Czech second-tier side MFK Chrudim, with the club activating the purchase option following the end of his loan spell.
The 23-year-old centre-back moved abroad for the first time in January, joining Chrudim on loan for the remainder of the season. Vientiess went on to make 12 appearances in the Czech National Football League, scoring one goal as the club finished 11th in the 16-team standings. Following his spell, Chrudim have now exercised their option to sign the Latvian defender on a permanent basis.
A product of the FK Metta academy, Vientiess has made 162 appearances in the Virslīga during his career. He joined FK Liepāja ahead of the 2025 season after spending several years with Metta’s first team. During the first half of the 2025 campaign, he featured in 14 league matches for Liepāja and scored once before spending the second half of the season on loan at FK Tukums 2000.
Vientiess has represented Latvia at multiple youth international levels and has also received senior national team call-ups. Most recently, he was included in Latvia’s squad for the Baltic Cup two years ago, although he is still waiting to make his senior international debut.
