Riga moved into the Latvian Cup semi-finals with a 4-1 quarter-final win against Metta at Skonto Stadium, following a goalless first half.

Metta carried the greater threat early on, with Gambian Sellou Jallow breaking down the right and teeing up Daniels Pētersons for a fierce effort that was saved by Krišjānis Zviedris. Jallow later created another opening, only for Riga defender Abner to intervene, while at the other end Metta goalkeeper Krists Pļaviņš kept out one shot late in the half before a second attempt was blocked.

Riga FC made a change at the break, handing recent Nigerian signing Nor Maviram his debut, with the club announcing his arrival around an hour before kick-off. The hosts went ahead in the 53rd minute when Caio curled a corner straight into the far corner.

The tie was effectively settled as substitute Raki Aouani struck twice in quick succession, first finishing from the middle of the area in the 69th minute and then scoring again when left unmarked in front of goal.

Metta pulled one back through Daņiils Čiņajevs 84 minutes in, but Riga had the last word as another substitute, Iago Siqueira, made it 4-1 in the 90th minute.
