Auda reached the Latvian Cup final after recovering from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Daugavpils before winning 3-0 on penalties in a dramatic semi-final.
The home side made a strong start and took control inside 18 minutes. Raivis Skrebels opened the scoring in the 13th minute, finishing into the far corner after a low cross, before Joel Yakubu doubled Daugavpils’ advantage five minutes later.
Auda reduced the deficit in the 63rd minute when substitute Andrews Appiah turned in a team-mate’s shot via a deflection. The visitors then dominated possession and territory, but struggled to create clear chances. A Daugavpils goal by Ervīns Piņaskis was ruled out for offside.
Auda were handed a penalty deep into stoppage time after a late challenge by 19-year-old Dukumo Vadulu. Eduards Dašķevičs converted in the sixth added minute to force extra time, with neither side able to find a winner in the additional 30 minutes.
Dašķevičs, Kader Kone and Edvin Bongemba converted for Auda in the penalty shoot-out, while Nils Puriņš saved two Daugavpils attempts and Rinalds Aizups hit the post. Auda will now play in their fourth Latvian Cup final, having won last year’s showpiece against Riga FC.
