In Norway’s second-tier OBOS-ligaen, Lūkass Vapne and his Sogndal IL side suffered a surprising 1–2 home defeat at the hands of Lyn.
Vapne, 21, once again started for Sogndal, but it was a rocky outing for the young midfielder. Early in the match, a miscommunication in the back led to a costly error. Vapne’s back pass lacked a clear target and was intercepted by Lyn attacker Mathias Johansen, who delivered a low cross from the left wing. Salim Laghzaoui met it with a precise strike to beat the home goalkeeper and put the visitors ahead.
Despite the setback, Sogndal responded quickly. In the 33rd minute, forward Sebastian Pedersen equalized with a powerful header, momentarily restoring balance to the scoreboard.
However, defensive lapses returned to haunt the hosts in the 78th minute. Lyn’s Anders Olsen found space at the far post and slotted the ball through the keeper’s legs to give the visitors a 2–1 lead. Despite Sogndal’s efforts to claw back once more, they couldn’t find a second equalizer and were forced to accept a home loss.
Lūkass Vapne, who was making his 12th league appearance of the season, played 82 minutes before being subbed off. He has scored two goals so far this campaign.
Sogndal currently sit fourth in the standings with 19 points from 12 matches. A tough challenge awaits them next Saturday, as they travel to face league leaders Lillestrøm.
