In the penultimate match of the 14th round of the TOPsport A Lyga, Sūduva proved far too strong for visitors Riteriai, cruising to a convincing 4–1 win on home turf in Marijampolė. The result reinforced Sūduva’s spot in the top three, while Riteriai continued their downward spiral with a fifth consecutive defeat.
It didn’t take long for the home side to assert control. Just four minutes in, Amadou Sabo, following a superb pass from Nauris Petkevičius, delivered the ball to Sidy Sanokho, who calmly slotted it into the far corner to open the scoring.
Sūduva doubled their lead in the 26th minute. A quick throw-in launched a swift attack, with Frankline Tangiri threading a perfect pass to Henri Uzochukwu, who finished with composure to make it 2–0.
Before the break, Sūduva struck again. This time, it was goalkeeper Giedrius Zenkevičius who registered the assist, launching a long ball across the pitch to Tangiri, who coolly beat the Riteriai keeper in the 42nd minute, sending the hosts into halftime with a commanding 3–0 lead.
To their credit, Riteriai showed some fight in the second half. In the 61st minute, Estevez Fernandez laid off a ball to Armandas Šveistrys on the edge of the area, and the youngster fired home to register the visitors’ only shot on target—and their lone goal of the night.
Sūduva, however, weren’t done. In the 87th minute, Idris Momoh capped the night with a fourth goal, putting the match out of reach and sealing the win in style.
The result lifts Sūduva to 28 points, keeping them firmly in third place in the standings. Meanwhile, Riteriai remain stuck in ninth with 10 points, desperately in need of a turnaround as the season heads into its crucial stages.
