Vuškāne crowned the Polish Ekstraliga champion with GKS Katowice

Latvian women’s national team player Sanija Santa Vuškāne today helped her GKS Katowice secure the Polish Ekstraliga title.

The 19-year-old forward started in the match, in which GKS Katowice achieved an impressive 7-2 victory against Pogon Tczew. With this win, Katowice has clinched its second-ever Polish Ekstraliga title, the first since the 2022/23 season.

Last season, Vuškāne was the top goalscorer in the Latvian women’s league while playing for RFS Women, leading her team to a second-place finish. In the winter, the talented forward moved to Poland to join Katowice. So far this season, she has made eight appearances and scored one goal since her transfer.
