In the Czech Chance Liga, Raimonds Krollis scored a goal in his fourth consecutive league game as his team, Slovan Liberec, suffered their first defeat since February 8th, losing 2-3 against Karvina.

The 23-year-old Latvian forward had scored in his previous three league matches and was looking to extend his scoring streak in a crucial game against Karvina. A win would secure a Top 6 finish and a spot in the Championship group, allowing them to continue their pursuit of European competition.

Krollis once again started in the lineup, and Slovan Liberec took the lead in the 10th minute with a long-range goal from Santiago Eneme. However, at the end of the first half, Karvina equalized the score.

At the beginning of the second half, Raimonds Krollis found the net! After a corner kick, he was unmarked at the far post, and when the ball reached him, he shot from close range to beat the goalkeeper, giving Slovan a 2-1 advantage. It was Raimonds sixth goal of the season in nine league matches.

Unfortunately for Krollis and his teammates, two unlucky goals conceded due to deflections dashed their hopes of finishing in the Top 6 and competing for a European spot. This defeat marked the end of their eight-game unbeaten streak since February 8th.

As a result of this loss, Slovan finished the regular season in 7th place, just one point shy of Sigma Olomouc, who secured a 3-0 victory against Česke Budejovice in their last match, leapfrogging Slovan Liberec.

The dream of earning a spot in the upcoming European season has come to an end, as the Czech league format changed prior to the season. Previously, teams finishing in 7th to 10th place still had a chance to qualify for a UEFA Conference League spot, but now those teams will compete in playoff matches for prize money. In early May, Slovan Liberec will host Bohemians in a two-legged playoff.
