
Aberdeen FC without the injured Kristers Tobers secured a place in the Scottish Cup final by defeating Heart of Midlothian 2-1 after extra time. This marks Aberdeen’s first appearance in the Scottish Cup final since 2017.
The Latvian national team captain missed his sixth straight game because of a knee injury he suffered in the 2nd of March game in the league against Dundee United.
The match began with a lead for Aberdeen in the first half, following an own goal by veteran goalkeeper Craig Gordon. However, Hearts quickly equalized when Lewis Shankland scored. Just before halftime, Hearts’ player received a straight red card, leaving them with ten players on the field.
The score remained unchanged in the second half, forcing the game into extra time. During the second half of extra time, Hearts midfielder Cameron Devlin received a second yellow card, which reduced Hearts to nine players for the final five minutes. It took Aberdeen just two minutes to capitalize on this advantage, as Palestinian forward Oday Dabbagh scored the game-winning goal in the 118th minute.
In the final, Aberdeen will face either Celtic or Daniels Balodis St Johnstone, who are set to play tomorrow at Hampden Park.
