In front of a record attendance for the A Lyga this decade, with 6,575 spectators at Darius and Girenas Stadium, FK Kauno Žalgiris and FK Sūduva played to a goalless 0:0 draw.
Prior to this match, the largest crowd this decade was during the 2017 game between Sūduva and Vilnius Žalgiris, which attracted 4,489 fans in Marijampolė.
Both team managers made two changes to their starting lineups compared to the previous game. For Kauno Žalgiris, Serbian players Damjan Pavlovic and Dejan Georgijevic were included in the starting eleven. Meanwhile, Sūduva manager Vencevičius gave 20-year-old Nojus Lukšys his first start of the season, and Togolese midfielder Steve Lawson returned to the lineup after having been on the bench in the last match.

The best chance for Kauno Žalgiris came in the 67th minute when Aldayr Hernandez’s header from a corner kick was cleared off the goal line by Uzochukwu, while the rebound got straight to a Žalgiris player who took a shot from close range, which was also saved by Plūkas.
Playing actively in defense while waiting for counterattack opportunities, and they had one as Marijampolė scored in the 78th minute, but the goal was disallowed due to offside.
The hosts could have taken the lead in the 84th minute after a corner kick, but Vilius Armanavičius’ header struck the post. The hard-fought match concluded in a goalless draw. This was the third 0:0 draw for Kauno Žalgiris this season, while Sūduva maintained a clean sheet for the fourth time in their first six league matches of the season.
