In the Dutch Eerste Divisie, Latvian striker Dario Šits provided an assist for the first goal of the game, but his team, Helmond Sport, couldn’t maintain their lead and ended up in a 2-2 draw against Telstar.
The 21-year-old forward started his second consecutive match for Helmond Sport and made an immediate impact. In the first minute, Dario delivered a brilliant through ball to his teammate, van den Hurk, who got a one-on-one opportunity and converted it.
Helmond doubled their lead in the 18th minute, but right before halftime, Telstar reduced the deficit.
In the dying moments of the match, Telstar pushed for an equalizer, and they did that when Jeff Hardeveld scored from close range to level the game at 2-2.
Dario Šits played the entire match, marking his 19th appearance of the season in the Dutch Eerste Divisie, during which he has scored five goals and provided three assists.
Helmond Sport currently sits 11th in the league table with 45 points after 33 games. Their next match is next Sunday, when they will face Venlo away.
